January 2, 2014

I found another lump. I noticed my lymphedema was really bad lately over the last month and didn't know why. I missed my follow-up visit on the 17th of December because of the flu, of which I have had twice in December - odd, but I had a flu shot at the instruction of my Dr. after the first flu. Anyway, I found the lump two days ago. I have an appointment to go to City of Hope on the 21st. The lump may be scar tissue. I will update.

July 12, 2013

I cannot believe I still have pain. My hips hurt so badly when I wake up. I have to maneuver myself around just to get out of bed, and that is on top or in addition to the screaming. I am up now and the added pain is coming from my feet. Delightful.

June 18, 2013

Follow-up visit day findings and results: Gabapentin did not contribute to the 15lb weight gain I have had overall since surgery. The weight gain is from the Tamoxifen. Since my feet are working better, I think I will stop the Gabapentin anyway. I am retaining water and swollen today so I took a hydrocholot pill. See if that helps. I had these for high blood pressure, prior to my surgery, my blood pressure went up and stayed up until surgery. It went back to normal after that. My blood work showed a lack of vitamin D so the Dr. told me to take 1000 per day. My bone scan showed significant bone loss in my hips. Still in normal limits. I can feel this. Isn't that weird. My cholesterol is a bit high. I need to keep walking. It is not as easy as it was when Tristyn was in school. I would drop him off and go. Now, I have to tote him along and he just complains the whole time. I bought the Abs video, I will try it. I keep watching it so I can complain about what I can't do. I still don't smoke but boy do I want to. I don't go back to the City of Hope until July for the hormone shot. Blah! Oh, my mamo was fine. No lumps, no bumps, no cancer.

June 12, 2013

My follow-up appointments are coming up. Mammogram, bone density, blood work and I think that is it. My bones hurt but I bet the results on the test are fine. I think it is my brain. I have been on Gabapentin, helps a little, but the Aleve and Tylenol help the most. I try to even out when I take the different pills so I don't destroy my liver. I have nicotine fits daily for some odd reason. I quit in January, how odd that I would have a problem six months later. I feel like I have put on 25 pounds since I quit. I haven't been doing the required/recommended walking. Starting again tomorrow. I have to end off a survey from City Of Hope so I had to get into the blog for the details of me meds, I don't remember the dates and meds off the top of my head :-).

April 17, 2013

I saw my GP last week. I am now on a lower dosage of Gabapentin, higher dosage of vitamin B-12 and, I am on Norco in addition to the Tylenol and Naproxen. I don't overlap the Norco and the Tylenol. I still have the same problems except the left foot hurts less. I can only do the Gabapentin after I get home from picking up Tristyn, cause you can't drive with it until you adjust to it. It is going to take me awhile cause I don't wake up at 3 a.m. to take the second dose. Right now, I am at one a day, 300 mg. I have to fix that. I am walking an hour almost every day, that is nice. It has started to firm up my skin. When I went for my stomach shot of Zoledex, it was a little tougher to stab me. It hurt. No biggie, over that. No side effects from the shot. Things might be smoothing out for me. I am as big as two men and except for the pains that come on in certain situations, I feel good. The appetite is decreasing too, maybe a benefit of all the meds. Works for me since I put on ten pounds since I quit smoking in January. The exercise is helping I am sure. Well, I don't have to see the Dr. for anything until June, so there may not be any updates. If something changes between now and then, like an exam or something, I will blog it. Otherwise, good bye for now. Mamo in June.

April 5, 2013

I am keeping track of my symptoms since my visit a week ago at City of Hope. The bottoms of my feet still hurt and the Gabapentin my cousin gave me does not help. My feet hurt when I sit in a chair, and when I get out of bed. I am able to walk through the pain; it goes away after a few minutes. It returns when I stand still too long. Doing dishes and cooking aggravates this but I push on. My left ankle, shin and thigh bone pain moves around, it isn't constant. My left hip bone pain is constant; it feels like my ovary is sitting on the bone, rubbing against it. So after driving or sitting, or lying down, it is really irritating to get up and move around. I am hoping the exercise will reduce this aggravation and pain. The 650 Tylenol isn't working. My cousin gave me Tylenol with codeine, they make me sleepy and they help with the pain. I see my GP Doctor next week; he isn't affiliated with City of Hope. I am pretty sure I need to see a gynecologist for this ovary thing. I will get a referral I am sure. I am going to do more Tamoxifen research, see if this ovary thing is related to taking that medication. Oh and the hormone shot of Goserelin seems to have made things worse. I had blood work done last week, everything was normal. Odd.

March 24, 2013

Rough couple of weeks since I was told by the triage nurse that my pain may be constipation. It isn't. I can barely walk. I am pretty sure my ovaries are toast. I don't have any upcoming appointments for this issue. I do go for pap in two weeks. I will update.
